Do you have a passion for dogs, animal behavior, and creating meaningful experiences that enrich their daily lives? We’re looking for a compassionate, creative, and reliable Canine Enrichment Coordinator to join our team!
About the Role
The Canine Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing enrichment activities that support dogs’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This role works closely with staff to ensure every dog in our care receives high-quality stimulation, training support, and positive interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and schedule daily enrichment activities (sensory games, training exercises, social sessions, puzzle feeders, outdoor adventures, etc.)
Assess individual dogs’ enrichment needs and tailor plans accordingly
Track behavioral observations and progress notes
Collaborate with staff on behavior plans
Maintain enrichment supplies and create new DIY activities
Train staff on enrichment techniques
Support general care tasks as needed (feeding, cleaning, dog handling)
Qualifications
Experience working with dogs in a shelter, daycare, training, or veterinary setting
Understanding of basic dog behavior
Creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable with physically active, sometimes fast-paced work
Must be able to lift 40+ lbs and handle dogs of all sizes safely
Preferred (but not required)
Formal training in animal behavior or related field
Experience with enrichment program development
Schedule & Compensation
30–38 hours/week, including 1-2 Saturdays per month
